Corrections policy
Heat pump costs, grants and tariffs change. If we’ve got something wrong, we want to fix it — fast and on the record.
Report an error
Email editorial@heatpumpcosts.co.uk with the page URL and what you think is wrong. A screenshot or link to a primary source (Ofgem, MCS, GOV.UK, Energy Saving Trust, manufacturer datasheet) gets it fixed fastest.
Every guide also carries a “Spotted an error? Report it” link in the footer of the article.
How we handle corrections
- We aim to acknowledge within two working days and publish a fix or rebuttal within five.
- Factual fixes are made in place and noted in the page’s visible changelog with the date and a one-line summary of what changed.
- Material errors (anything that could mislead a homeowner on cost, eligibility, or safety) get a prominent “Updated — correction” note at the top of the page for 30 days.
- Opinion or interpretation disagreements aren’t corrections, but we’ll consider clarifying the wording.
Freshness commitments
Every page that affects a buying decision (costs, grants, running costs, brand reviews) carries a visible “Last updated” and “Next review” date. We review at least quarterly, and whenever the underlying data changes (grant amount, energy price cap, manufacturer line-up).
We don’t bump dates without a real edit — Google detects that and so do readers.
Right to reply
Manufacturers and installers named on the site can request a right of reply on any review or ranking. Email editorial@heatpumpcosts.co.uk.
